Saif Bin Darwish was awarded first place in the 2023 CEMEX Building Awards for International Infrastructure Project held on November 9 th in Mexico City, for the “2101-248 South Quay GC Terminal Infrastructure Works” project for Abu Dhabi Ports The Cemex Building Award recognizes projects that excel in design and innovation, promote environmental preservation, and provide optimal solutions for their users and communities.
The project required 1.20 million square meters of area to be laid with CBGM Tiles Cemex supplied us CBGM with a record breaking maximum of 2400 cubic meters in a day to help us reach our target All quality aggregates for cement mixes were supplied from Saif Bin Darwish Crushers based in Fujairah For laying Tiles, the project team applied KAIZEN and continuous improvement principles to identify and solve bottlenecks, achieving a production rate of 5 000 SQM per day, increasing production by 46%. The project team’s efforts in optimizing work design and improving ergonomics led to significant efficiency improvements and a reduced carbon footprint.
Through continued teamwork and innovation, the project was successfully completed well ahead of schedule This allowed our client, Abu Dhabi Ports, early access to the site before final handover, thereby minimizing delays and disruptions to their operations and services.
